Family Faith Formation 2017/2018
To encourage and equip parents to fulfill their God-given duty and privilege of educating their children in the Catholic Faith thereby strengthening families to foster learning of the joy and truths of their Catholic Faith in Jesus through the witness given by their parents.

Family of Faith by Sophia Institute

There will be one monthly meeting that will occur during the first week of the month (Sunday after the 11:00 a.m Mass or on a weeknight tbd). This will include a meal for the family. Children will go to class rooms and attend Sacramental Prep classes. Adults will stay together to cover the topic for the month, the family activities and children’s homework.
There will be one short community gathering on the third Sunday of the month to discuss progress on activities and homework. This gathering will also include a community activity revolving around the season such as Advent activities, Stations of the Cross for Lent, trip to Pumpkin Patch in October.
Families will determine what activities and homework are best for them, complete them during the month and return them at the monthly gathering.

Every project and homework assignment will be tracked and recorded as either complete or incomplete. Attendance will be recorded for each monthly meeting. Five incomplete individual assignments, three incomplete family activities or three missed meetings will result in an incomplete for the year.
Sacramental Preparation:
The Sacramental Preparation process will be in full compliance with the Diocesan requirements of having three years of preparation prior to eligibility to receive the Sacraments. These classes will take place during the monthly meeting that will occur at the beginning of each month. Each year will cover the following Sacraments, one year for each Sacrament and they are Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. Students will be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in their second year and Confirmation and First Holy Communion after the third year upon satisfactorily completing each of the previous years.
Those students have received the Sacraments will have the opportunity to study other topics and engage in public service projects.
